Oxygen bars first emerged in the 1990s and have since become a popular feature in the entertainment and alternative health & wellness industries.
In the fast-paced world of 2024, self-care practices are evolving, with people exploring new ways to relax and enhance their overall well-being. Among these practices, oxygen bars have gained attention for providing a unique experience that combines oxygen inhalation with aromatherapy. Establishments like O2 Fusions offer sessions where patrons can inhale oxygen enhanced with aromatic scents.
Oxygen bars typically provide oxygen at a concentration of around 95%, compared to the approximately 21% found in the ambient air. The experience at these bars is designed to offer a refreshing and enjoyable environment. While most patrons report feeling more alert and invigorated after a session, it's important to note that individual experiences may vary.
As with any wellness service, those interested in oxygen bars should consult with a healthcare provider if they have any medical conditions or concerns. The use of oxygen bars is intended for general wellness and relaxation.
Please reach us at info@O2Fusions.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
An oxygen bar offers non-medical oxygen mixed with various scents, called aromatherapy. Patrons sit at one of our comfortable delivery stations while wearing a nasal cannula. While breathing in the aromatic oxyginated air, patrons should breathe normally and relax, enjoying their choice of therapeutic oxygen aromas such as orange, lavender, eucalyptus or rosemary. (We have close to 20 different aromas to choose from and can create an infiinate number of combinations!)
The air we normally breathe contains about 21% oxygen. The rest is Nitrogen, Argon and other trace gasses. The oxygen from our O2 Fusions Oxygen Bar is between 92% and 98% oxygen allowing the customer to breathe 4 to 5 times the normal amount of oxygen.
There are no adverse effects with the short-term use of oxygen. The American Lung Association has said that breathing oxygen from an oxygen bar for less than 30 minutes (one oxygen bar session) has no harmful effects and there is no evidence that oxygen used in bars can be dangerous to a normal person's health. Longer sessions are fine provided they aren't repeated within the same 24 hour period. Our skiled staff will adjust oxygen intake accordingly.
It should be noted that people with some types of heart disease, asthma, congestive heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases such as emphysema, should NOT use oxygen bars. Our staff assess each patron prior to use to ensure safety in this regard. Consult your doctor before using an oxygen bar if you have a heart condition, vascular disorder, or other chronic medical condition.
Oxygen bars are not intended to treat, cure, prevent or diagnose any illness or disease.
Yes. We have had kids that are active in sports that come in as well as overactive and hyper youth. Oxygen has a calming effect and also promotes faster muscle recovery. Minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. We do not service anyone under the age of 10.
At O2 Fusions, we prioritize hygiene and sanitation to ensure the health and safety of our guests. Our procedures include:
By adhering to these stringent protocols, we aim to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all our guests.
The oxygen we serve comes from self-contained machines called oxygen concentrators (non-medical), not high-pressure cylinders, so our products are completely safe. All of our equipment is compliant with the FDA and our oxygen generators are CSA and CE approved.
Aromatherapy is a holistic practice that involves the use of natural plant extracts, specifically essential oils, to promote a sense of well-being and relaxation. These essential oils are inhaled during your oxygen session.
While some people find aromatherapy helpful for enhancing mood and creating a pleasant environment, it is important to note that its effects can vary from person to person. Aromatherapy is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
At O2 Fusions, we offer two types of aromatherapy: water-based aromas and essential oils. Both options are delivered through a humidifier bottle to ensure a gentle experience for your lungs. Essential oils, used more sparingly, can provide a more beneficial and personalized session. Our skilled staff is happy to explain the differences and help you choose the best option before your session. The choice is yours!
For optimum benefits, a session should last from 10 to 20 minutes.
When you arrive, you’ll be warmly greeted and presented with a selection of aromas. A staff member will explain the benefits of each aroma.
Once you make your selection, you’ll be taken to a comfortable seating area and given a nasal cannula. A nasal cannula is a flexible tube that splits into two small prongs, fits loosely around your head and the prongs rest just inside the nostrils to deliver the oxygen. Once turned on, you breathe normally and relax. Your cannula becomes your property for use at future sessions. Nasal cannulas are NEVER shared or reused on different persons.
Oxygen is offered in 10 minute increments, up to a maximum of 60 minutes.
We have 20 different aromas for you to choose from. We suggest to put down your phone, relax and breathe through your nose and out your mouth while you relax and enjoy.
Breathing higher concentrations of oxygen has several benefits; the most commonly reported benefits are increased energy, an uplifted refreshed feeling, clearing of the mind, relief of toxic headaches such as from hangover, relief of stress and promotion of higher concentration levels.
People who use an oxygen bar frequently say that it makes them feel more energetic and in a positive mood. Others say that the best effects of going to an O2 bar are reduced stress after a long work day, relief for migraines, headaches, and hangovers while others report relief from fatigue, brain fog and even altitude sickness.*
